I like this so much better than store bought and it is easy to make while you are making up pancakes. It's another reason for me to use up buttermilk. This is also lasts and doesn't spoil like you'd think with buttermilk in it.

Makes: enough to fill syrup bottle and then some
1 1/2 c sugar
3/4 c buttermilk
1/2 c butter
2 T corn syrup
1 t baking soda
2 t vanilla
In a large saucepan, combine first 5 ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil for 7 min at a low boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
